Insurance & Payment Options
We know insurance and payment details can feel confusing. Our team takes the time to explain your coverage clearly and offer direct billing when available.
Direct Billing
For added convenience, we offer direct billing to many major insurance providers when available. This allows us to submit eligible claims electronically on your behalf, helping reduce paperwork at your appointment.
Coverage and eligibility depend on your individual plan. If you are unsure whether your provider supports direct billing, please contact our eye care clinic in Stony Plain before your visit, and our team will be happy to assist.
Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP)
For patients covered under the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP), certain eye care services may be eligible depending on age and medical need. Coverage is typically available for children under 19, seniors aged 65 and older, and patients requiring medically necessary eye care.
Routine eye exams for adults between 19 and 64 are generally not covered unless a specific medical condition applies. Eligibility and benefit limits are determined by Alberta Health. If you are unsure whether your visit qualifies, our team can help guide you before your appointment.
Medical Plans We Accept
Many medical insurance plans provide coverage for eye care related to health concerns, injury, or ongoing medical conditions. If you are visiting our Stony Plain clinic for medical eye care, your plan may support eligible services such as:
-
Assessment of eye pain or sudden vision changes
-
Monitoring of glaucoma, macular degeneration, or diabetic eye health
-
Evaluation of dry eye symptoms
-
Urgent or emergency eye care visits
-
Follow-up care related to medical eye conditions
Medical coverage varies depending on your provider and plan details. We recommend confirming your benefits directly with your insurer before your appointment.
